Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga And Relaxation

The Gentle Yoga class is suitable for all ages and abilities. The practice cultivates body awareness to enable the student to safely let go of tension and tightness. During the class you will be guided through a series of gentle postures (asanas), breath and energy practices (pranayama) and a guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra).

Yoga Nidra is a gentle yet powerful practice of guided meditation. Your body and mind will come to a very deep state of relaxation rarely achieved in daily life. It can help relieve many conditions including stress, insomnia, and anxiety.

The mantra of this class is ‘Less is more’.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha YogaFocusing on the physical movement of the body in union with the breath, Hatha Yoga stretches the body and mind while expanding the breath and finding relaxation even when you are upside down, leaning forward or just tangled up.

You do not need to be flexible or strong (which will come) to begin this practice, just to accept the new possibilities that you will discover about yourself that have always been there ready to be explored.

Hatha Flow
Hatha FlowA Hatha Flow Yoga class focusing on linking each movement with the continuous flow of the body and the breath. Learn to move in harmony with your body, moving in flow, allowing yourself to concentrate, be alert and yet relaxed at the same time. A Hatha Flow class reflects the possibility to reach such a state of flowing through your own daily life to bring out your true potential as you move between work, the school run, dinner and relaxation.

Ashtanga Based Yoga
A dynamic energetic class. Ashtanga yoga is for those who are interested in a serious workout. It is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath (Ujjayi) with a progressive series of postures (vinyasa) - a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.

Kundalini Yoga - as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Yogi BhajanWorking with the Chakra System and Kundalini Energy which naturally occurs in each one of us, Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, works by opening energy blocks in the body and in the mind by using organised sets or kriyas which are practiced to set times to create a specific outcome in the practitioner. Kriyas can concentrate on a wide range of issues in a human being such as bringing flexibility to the spine; opening the heart centre; working on the maintenance of the glandular system or even helping to release inner anger. There are 84,000 sets to choose from so variety is guaranteed.

Meditations and Mantras are of great importance in Kundalini Yoga and are practiced  along with asana (postures) and deep relaxation in every Kundalini Yoga class.

"The moment you feel that you are part of infinity and that infinity is a part of you, your limitations will cease and happiness will follow."
Yogi Bhajan
